Engineering work is taking place in connection with the Crossrail project between Chadwell Heath and Shenfield, closing some lines on Saturday and all lines on Sunday.

Trains between London Liverpool Street and Braintree / Clacton-on-Sea will be slightly re-timed. With some services departing up to 6 minutes earlier than normal.


Trains will not run between London Liverpool Street and Ingatestone.

Buses will operate between Ingatestone and Newbury Park London Underground station for passengers travelling to and from London.

Passengers for local stations should use TfL Rail services. Greater Anglia trains will start / terminate at Shenfield.

On Saturday, a reduced train service will operate between London Liverpool Street and Stratford.

On Sunday buses replace trains between Stratford and Shenfield.

Buses will operate between Newbury Park London Underground station and Shenfield. Buses will call at all stations between Chadwell Heath and Shenfield.

Your tickets will be accepted on London Underground Central Line services between Newbury Park and London Liverpool Street.

The Crossrail Project is building the Elizabeth line to link Reading and Heathrow in the west with Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east, via new 21km tunnels under central London. This will increase London's rail capacity, cut passenger journey times across the city, encourage regeneration and generate significant employment opportunities.

This project is part of the London Railway Upgrade Plan, creating new connections and increasing capacity in peak hour by 30%.
