Engineering work is taking place in various locations on the Great Western Railway network, closing some lines. Great Western Railway late night services will be amended.


The 04:07 Didcot Parkway to Reading will not call at Pangbourne. If you are travelling to this station, you use travel to Tilehurst for a bus to Pangbourne. If you are travelling from Pangbourne, travel on the 04:10 bus to Tilehurst to connect with the train.

Monday to Wednesday:

The 22:45 London Paddington to Swansea will be diverted and will not call at Didcot Parkway, Swindon, and Bristol Parkway. This service will also call additionally at Patchway.

Monday to Thursday:

Some trains from London Paddington will be diverted after Reading and will not call at Didcot Parkway, Swindon, and Chippenham. This also includes the 17:42 Penzance to London Paddington.

The 21:27 Taunton to London Paddington service will depart Bristol Temple Meads at 22:45 and Bath Spa at 22:57. The service will also divert and will not call at Swindon and Didcot Parkway. This means that the service will run late into London Paddington.

The 22:01 Reading to London Paddington service will not call at Langley and Iver. Customers travelling to / from these stations should use earlier or later services.

The 23:36 Swindon to Cheltenham Spa service will depart earlier at 23:15 and will also be diverted between Swindon and Gloucester, not calling at Kemble, Stroud, and Stonehouse. A bus will run at 00:08 from Swindon to Cheltenham Spa, calling at all stations.

Alternative travel options:

Alternative road transport will run in place of services that have been cancelled or diverted. These will mainly run between Reading and Swindon / Chippenham (extending to Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads)

Customers for Didcot Parkway should travel on alternative Great Western Railway services that call at the station. Some services have been amended to call additionally at Didcot Parkway.
