Description

Major re-signalling work is taking place between Glasgow Central and Motherwell / Bellshill, closing various lines.

Caledonian Sleeper

The London Euston to Glasgow Central service will divert via Burnside and Mount Florida.

CrossCountry

Buses replace trains between Motherwell and Glasgow Central.

ScotRail

On Saturday, buses will run on the following routes:

  • Glasgow Central and Shotts
  • Glasgow Central and Lanark
  • Motherwell and Bridgeton via Whifflet
  • Newton and Bridgeton
On Sunday, buses will run on the following routes:
  • Motherwell and Bridgeton via Whifflet and Hamilton
  • Glasgow Central and Motherwell
  • Glasgow Central and Edinburgh via Shotts
TransPennine Express

From 11:30 Saturday until 14:30 Sunday - Buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Edinburgh calling at Lockerbie. Customers to / from Haymarket should use Edinburgh.

Trains from Glasgow Central will be re-timed to depart 10 minutes earlier than normal. Trains to Glasgow Central will arrive 10 minutes later than normal.

Virgin Trains East Coast

Trains will start / terminate at Edinburgh.

Virgin Trains

Are diverted between Motherwell and Glasgow Central via Mount Florida until 11:30. Trains between London Euston and Glasgow Central via Birmingham New Street / Wolverhampton are amended as follows:-

On Saturday, the Anglo Scottish Glasgow services via the West Midlands generally start from / terminate at Carlisle until 11:30 due to limited availability via Mount Florida. From 11:30 the London – Glasgow services via the Trent Valley start from / terminate at Carlisle and the Angle Scot services via the West Midlands start from / terminate at Preston.

On Sunday, London – Scotland services via the Trent Valley start from / terminate at Carlisle until 14:30, after which they are diverted via Mount Florida. Anglo – Scot services via the West Midlands start from / terminate at Preston until 14:30 after which trains generally start from / terminate at Carlisle.
