Description

Major work on the signalling equipment is taking place in the Motherwell area closing all lines.

Caledonian Sleeper

On Sunday, trains are diverted to start / terminate at Glasgow Queen Street (HL) will not call at Motherwell or Carstairs.

On Monday, trains are diverted and will run via the East Coast main line and will not call at Watford Junction, Crewe and Preston. 

Additionally, the 23:40 Glasgow Central to London Euston will start at Glasgow Queen Street (HL)

CrossCountry

Buses will replace trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central. Customers may have to change buses to complete their journey.

ScotRail

Saturday and Monday, buses will replace trains on the following routes:

  • Edinburgh and Glasgow Central via Carstairs and via Shotts
  • Newton and Dalmarnock
  • Lanark and Glasgow Central
  • Hamilton Central and Cumbernauld
  • Motherwell and Bridgeton

On Sunday, buses will replace trains on the following routes: 

  • Edinburgh and Glasgow Central via Shotts
  • Motherwell / Lanark and Glasgow Central
  • Motherwell and Hamilton Central
  • Newton and Bridgeton

 

TransPennine Express

Buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Edinburgh.

Customers travelling between Carlisle and Glasgow Central should use Virgin Trains replacement buses.

Additionally on Saturday, the 04:21 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport and on Monday the 04:22 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport will not run. Customers should use alternative services.

Virgin Trains

On Saturday and Monday, buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Glasgow Central.

On Sunday, buses will replace trains between Preston and Glasgow Central.

Customers travelling between Carlisle and Edinburgh, on all days, should use TransPennine Express replacement buses

Virgin Trains East Coast.

No trains will run between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central.

Customers may use alternative replacement buses.
