Description

Work on the overhead power cables is being undertaken between Shenfield and Southminster / Southend Victoria, closing various lines.

Monday night to early Friday Morning:

The last through trains will be the 21:35 London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria, and 21:30 Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street services.

The last train between Wickford and Southminster will depart at 20:56. The last train between Southminster and Wickford will depart at 21:31.

From 22:25 each night, buses will replace trains between Shenfield and Hockley / Southminster.

From 23:55 each night, buses will replace trains between Shenfield and Southend Victoria / Southminster.

The 22:30 and 23:00 Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street services will be replaced by buses between Hockley and London Liverpool Street.

Project Information:

Work on the next phase of a £46m programme that will transform travel on the Southend Victoria and Southminster branch line will take place on weeknights until May as part of Britain's Railway Upgrade Plan.

Over the last year, engineers have installed over 100 structures that will carry new overhead wires and between Shenfield and Southend Victoria and over 1km of overhead wire between Shenfield and Billericay. This marks the start of work to install 128km of overhead wire on the whole line to reduce delays caused by sagging overhead wires.
