Description

Engineering work is taking place between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway, closing all lines.

The following alterations will apply:

CrossCountry

Trains will divert and not call at Bristol Parkway. Journey times will be extended by 60 minutes. Buses will replace trains between Bristol Parkway and Cheltenham Spa.

An hourly train service will operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Birmingham New Street.

Great Western Railway

Main Line services:

Trains between Great Malvern / Worcester / Cheltenham Spa / Gloucester (via Bristol Temple Meads) and Westbury / Brighton / Weymouth will DIVERT after Bristol Parkway to / from Newport and Cardiff Central. Trains will then operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury / Warminster / Southampton Central / Brighton / Weymouth (terminating / starting from Dorchester West).

Trains between Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour will operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Portsmouth Harbour.

Trains between Cardiff Central and Bristol Temple Meads will NOT run.
Trains between Cardiff Central and Taunton will operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton.
Trains between Bristol Parkway and Weston-super-Mare will operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare.

Buses will replace trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway.

Severn Beach - Bristol Temple Meads services:

Trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth / Severn Beach will NOT run.

A replacement bus service will operate hourly between Bristol Temple Meads, Clifton Down, Sea Mills, Shirehampton and Avonmouth. Buses will extend every 2 hours to / from St Andrews Road and Severn Beach.

There will also be hourly buses between Bristol Temple Meads and Lawrence Hill, Stapleton Road, Montpelier, Redland and Clifton Down, connecting at Clifton Down with buses between Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth / Severn Beach.

Road journey times from Bristol Temple Meads to:

  • Clifton Down: 20-48 mins
  • Avonmouth: 37 mins
  • Severn Beach: 55 mins

Early and late buses will call all stations between Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth / Severn Beach. The last bus will depart Avonmouth and Bristol Temple Meads at 20:57.
