Description

Engineering work is taking place between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh, closing some lines.

Caledonian Sleeper

From Friday evening onwards, Caledonian Sleeper services will be diverted from usual route between Carstairs and Edinburgh. Trains may be retimed.

CrossCountry:

On Saturday, trains will start / terminate at Edinburgh and will not call at Motherwell. Connecting rail services will operate between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Customers should change at Glasgow for rail services to Motherwell.

On Sunday, replacement buses will operate between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central and Motherwell.

ScotRail: Only affected on Saturday

Buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh via Carstairs.

Buses will replace trains Shotts and Edinburgh.

The 10:20 Edinburgh to Glasgow Central and 23:13 Edinburgh to Motherwell are replaced by buses throughout

TransPennine Express:

Buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Edinburgh calling at Lockerbie. Buses will not call at Haymarket, customers for this station should travel via Edinburgh.

Additionally on Sunday, trains from Glasgow Central are retimed to depart 10 minutes earlier than normal running booked time from Carlisle. Trains to Glasgow Central will have journey times extended by 10 minutes after leaving Carlisle.

Virgin Trains:

On Saturday and Sunday, services between London Euston and Edinburgh will run between London Euston and Carlisle only. Replacement buses will run between Carlisle and Edinburgh.

Virgin Trains East Coast:

Services between London Kings Cross and Glasgow Central will start / terminate at Edinburgh. Replacement buses will run between Motherwell and Edinburgh. Customers for Glasgow should use CrossCountry / ScotRail services.
