Engineering work is taking place in the Redhill area from 23:45 Saturday and on all day Sunday, closing all lines.

Great Western Railway


The 23:34 Reading to Gatwick Airport service will terminate at Redhill for alternative train services to Gatwick Airport.


Trains between Reading and Redhill / Gatwick Airport will start / terminate at Reigate.

Road transport will operate hourly between Reigate and Gatwick Airport taking 25 minutes.

2 buses an hour will run between Reigate and Redhill taking 10 minutes.

In most cases it will be necessary to leave Gatwick Airport / Redhill earlier than normal to maintain connections at Reigate.

Some services between Reigate and Reading will be retimed.

Gatwick Express

On Sunday, early morning trains will be cancelled and replaced by road transport. The following trains will not run:

  • 05:00, 05:30, and 06:00 London Victoria to Gatwick Airport
  • 05:48, 06:18, and 06:48 Gatwick Airport to London Victoria



Buses replace trains between between Redhill and Tonbridge and between Purley and Horley.

No trains will run between Redhill and Reigate. Customers should use Great Western Railway replacement buses.

Trains between London Victoria and Bognor Regis / Portsmouth Harbour are diverted between Purley and Gatwick Airport and will not call at Coulsdon South or Redhill but will call additionally at Purley.


Trains are diverted between Purley and Gatwick Airport and will not call at Coulsdon South, Merstham or Redhill. Customers should use Southern replacement buses.
