Engineering work is taking place at various points in the North West of England on the Northern network, closing some lines.

Monday to Thursday:

The 19:09 Carlisle to Preston service will terminate at Barrow-in-Furness. A bus will run between Barrow-in-Furness and Preston.

The 22:10 Manchester Airport to Barrow-in-Furness service will terminate at Preston. A replacement bus will run between Preston and Barrow-in-Furness.

The 22:47 Sheffield to Manchester Piccadilly service will not call at stations between New Mills Central and Ashburys. A replacement bus will run between Chinley and Manchester Piccadilly, calling at all booked stations.

The 23:15 New Mills Central to Manchester Piccadilly service will be replaced by a bus.

The 23:24 Manchester Piccadilly to New Mills Central service will be replaced by a bus.

The 23:27 Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop service will be replaced by a bus throughout. One bus will call at Ashburys, Gorton, Guide Bridge, Flowery Field, Newton for Hyde, Godley, Glossop, Dinting and Hadfield. A second bus will run between Godley and Hadfield, calling at Hattersley, Broadbottom, Glossop, Dinting and Hadfield.

Tuesday to Friday:

The 04:53 Barrow-in-Furness to Preston service will be replaced by a bus service.

The 05:16 Preston to Carlisle service will run as two separate trains:

  • The first train will run from Preston to Barrow-in-Furness
  • The second train will run from Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle, departing Barrow-in-Furness at 06:50
