Description

Engineering work is taking place between Motherwell and Glasgow Central, closing all lines.

Caledonian Sleeper:

The 23:53 London Euston to Glasgow Central service (departing London Euston on Friday 22 June) will be diverted, and will arrive at Glasgow Central around 4 minutes later than usual.

CrossCountry:

Buses replace trains between Motherwell and Glasgow Central.

ScotRail:

Glasgow Central - Lanark services

An hourly train service will operate between Glasgow Central and Lanark (via Mount Florida) and will not call at Cambuslang. An hourly replacement bus will also operate, calling at all booked stops.

Glasgow Central - Newton Services

Trains are amended to operate to / from Larkhall and Motherwell (both hourly services)
An hourly train service will also operate between Cumbernauld and Motherwell.

Argyle Line services

The following services will start / terminate at Rutherglen:

Motherwell – Dalmuir
Whifflet – Dalmuir
Larkhall – Milngavie

The following services will start / terminate at Dalmarnock:

Cumbernauld – Dalmuir
Larkhall – Milngavie
Milngavie - Cumbernauld

An hourly train service will also operate between Cumbernauld and Motherwell.

Replacement buses will operate between:

Bridgeton - Motherwell (via Whifflet)
Bridgeton - Newton

TransPennine Express:

Saturday

Trains from Glasgow Central and Manchester Airport will depart 10 minutes EARLIER than normal. Trains from Manchester Airport to Glasgow Central will be re-timed to arrive 10 minutes LATER than normal.

Sunday

Trains will operate as advertised.

Virgin Trains:

Services will be diverted between Motherwell and Glasgow Central to run via Mount Florida. Services will be amended to start / terminate slightly earlier / later than usual.

London North Eastern Railway:

Trains will not run between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central.

Passengers to / from Motherwell -  Buses will operate between Edinburgh and Motherwell.

Passengers to and from Glasgow Central - Passengers should use ScotRail services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP) is a comprehensive package of improvements to Scotland's railway infrastructure.

A Scottish Government priority, the £742m EGIP is being delivered by Network Rail and includes modernisation and upgrades to key junctions and infrastructure as well as widespread electrification of the Scottish rail network, including the main line between Edinburgh and Glasgow and to Stirling and Dunblane.
