Engineering work is taking place between Motherwell and Glasgow Central, closing all lines.

Caledonian Sleeper:

The 23:53 London Euston to Glasgow Central service (departing London Euston on Friday 22 June) will be diverted, and will arrive at Glasgow Central around 4 minutes later than usual.


Buses replace trains between Motherwell and Glasgow Central.


It is not yet known how ScotRail are affected by this engineering work.

TransPennine Express:

It is not yet known how TransPennine Express are affected by this engineering work.

Virgin Trains:

Services will be diverted between Motherwell and Glasgow Central to run via Mount Florida. Services will be amended to start / terminate slightly earlier / later than usual.

Virgin Trains East Coast:

It is not yet known how Virgin Trains East Coast are affected by this engineering work.

The Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP) is a comprehensive package of improvements to Scotland's railway infrastructure.

A Scottish Government priority, the £742m EGIP is being delivered by Network Rail and includes modernisation and upgrades to key junctions and infrastructure as well as widespread electrification of the Scottish rail network, including the main line between Edinburgh and Glasgow and to Stirling and Dunblane.
