Great Western Railway between Cardiff Central / Great Malvern / Romsey / Portsmouth Harbour and Brighton

Engineering work is taking place between Ford and Brighton, closing all lines.

Great Western Railway

Trains will be replaced by buses between Barnham and Brighton. The first early morning train from Portsmouth Harbour will not run.

The 09:00 Brighton to Great Malvern service will start from Portsmouth Harbour, making additional calls at Portsmouth & Southsea and Fratton. The 17:00 Brighton to Bristol Temple Meads service will start from Barnham.

Customers may use alternative trains / road transport provided by Southern for this journey.


The following alteration to service will take place on Saturday and Sunday:-

Trains between

  • London Victoria and Littlehampton will run between London Victoria and Haywards Heath.
  • Brighton and Portsmouth Harbour will run between Littlehampton and Portsmouth Harbour.
  • Brighton and Southampton Central will run between Littlehampton and Southampton Central.
  • Brighton and Hove will not run.
  • Brighton and West Worthing will not run.

Customers should use alternative Southern services between Haywards Heath and Brighton.

A rail replacement bus service will operate between Brighton and Littlehampton.
