Description

Engineering work is taking place from 21:00 on Friday and all day on Saturday between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Edinburgh, closing all lines.

CrossCountry:

Friday:

The 15:45 Reading to Edinburgh service will terminate at Newcastle. A connecting rail service will run from Newcastle to Edinburgh.

Saturday:

No CrossCountry trains will operate between Newcastle and Edinburgh. Replacement buses will run, calling at all booked stations.

London North Eastern Railway:

Services on Friday evening are not affected by engineering work.

On Saturday, an hourly train service will run between Newcastle and Edinburgh by a diversionary route, with journey times being extended by around 90 minutes. A half hourly service will run between London Kings Cross and Newcastle.

Replacement buses will run between Newcastle and Edinburgh, calling at Morpeth, Alnmouth, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Dunbar.

Northern:

All day on Saturday and until 08:50 on Sunday, no trains will run between Morpeth and Chathill. Replacement buses will run between Morpeth and Chathill.

Please note that industrial action is taking place across the Northern network on Saturday 29 September and a significantly reduced service will be in operation.
