Carnoustie in Scotland, the host venue of the 147th Open in 2018, has hosted golf’s oldest major on seven occasions. Carnoustie has a reputation for being the toughest venue on the rota with the demanding closing four holes being the scene of many dramatic Open moments.

What's happening with the trains?

ScotRail are providing an enhanced service for The Open, and have a page dedicated to the event which you can link to here.

Regular hourly rail services from Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street will stop at Carnoustie station. Trains will call at the station in both directions from around 07:00 on Thursday 19 July through to Saturday 21 July, and from around 08:00 on Sunday 22 July.
