Amended Great Western Railway trains in the Westbury area from start of service until 09:25 Sunday 23 September

From start of service until approximately 09:25, engineering work is taking place between Bradford-on-Avon / Melksham and Westbury closing some lines.

The following alterations will apply:

  • 00:15 Reading to Newbury will NOT run.
  • 08:19 Bristol Temple Meads to Weymouth is retimed to depart Bristol Temple Meads at 08:42.
  • 08:28 Westbury to Swindon will NOT run. A replacement bus will run but is extended to run from Warminster to Chippenham calling at all stations, then forward rail connection from Chippenham to Swindon.
  • 08:30 Westbury to Warminster will NOT run. There is no replacement transport for this train.
  • 08:30 Exeter St Davids to London Paddington will call additionally at Frome.
  • 08:47 Warminster to Cardiff Central will start from Westbury. Customers should use the 08:28 bus from Warminster to Chippenham. 
  • 08:48 Newbury to Reading will NOT run.
  • 09:25 Bristol Temple Meads to Weymouth will have journey times extended by approximately 15 minutes after leaving Maiden Newton.
  • 09:25 Frome to Cardiff Central will start from Westbury. There is no replacement transport for this train between Frome and Westbury.
  • 09:26 Swindon to Westbury will NOT run. Customers should use trains between Swindon and Chippenham then replacement bus between Chippenham and Westbury.
  • 11:05 Weymouth to Swindon is retimed to depart Weymouth at 11:20 running 15 minutes later than normal throughout.
  • 13:38 Swindon to Weymouth service will depart earlier than usual at 13:28.
