Great Western Railway between Great Malvern / Worcester / Gloucester / Cheltenham Spa / Cardiff Central and Weston-super-Mare / Bristol Temple Meads / Westbury / Weymouth / Portsmouth Harbour / Brighton, and also between London Paddington and Cardiff Central / Swansea / Carmarthen

Engineering work is taking place between Patchway / Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Temple Meads, closing various lines.


An hourly service will run between Birmingham New Street and Bristol Temple Meads. Trains will be diverted, not calling at Bristol Parkway. Please allow for an extended journey time of up to 60 minutes.

Replacement road transport will be provided to run between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Parkway, and also between Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads.

Great Western Railway

All weekend, buses will operate between the following stations:

  • Yate and Bristol Temple Meads
  • Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads
  • Severn Beach / Avonmouth and Bristol Temple Meads
  • Newport and Filton Abbey Wood / Bristol Temple Meads / Swindon

Please note, services between London Paddington and South Wales will run as a train between London Paddington and Swindon only. Buses will be provided between Swindon and Newport. Trains will run between Newport and Cardiff Central / Swansea / Carmarthen.

Some late evening buses will be extended to call at Cardiff Central.

Trains between London Paddington and Cheltenham Spa will run between Swindon and Cheltenham Spa only. Customers should change trains at Swindon.

On Sunday only, a reduced service will run between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads / West of England.
