Engineering work is taking place between Shrewsbury and Knighton, and also between Shrewsbury and Newport, closing all lines.

Great Western Railway:

Services running to / from Hereford will also be affected by this engineering work.

An amended timetable will be in operation between Worcester Foregate Street and Hereford, with some services between London Paddington and Great Malvern / Hereford starting / terminating at alternative stations. These trains may leave earlier or later than usual. Customers should connect with these services using alternative rail services.

Transport for Wales:

Saturday and Sunday:

Replacement buses will run between Shrewsbury and Knighton, and also between Shrewsbury and Newport.

Sunday only:

Replacement buses will run between Shrewsbury and Welshpool.


On Monday morning, the 04:49 Shrewsbury to Llandrindod service will start from Knighton at 05:40. A replacement bus will run between Shrewsbury and Knighton.
