Amended service between Reading and Bedwyn from 21:30 on Saturday 27 until 10:00 on Sunday 28 October

Great Western Railway

Engineering work between Reading and Kintbury, closing the line from 22:00 on Saturday until 09:50 on Sunday. The work is part of Network Rails Great Western Mainline project.

The following services will be amended:


21:10 Reading to Bedwyn will be replaced by a bus between Newbury and Bedwyn.

21:35 Bedwyn to Reading will be retimed to run earlier than usual. This service will run non stop between Newbury and Reading. Road transport will be provided from Newbury to Reading, calling at all stations.

22:10 and 23:13 Reading to Bedwyn will be replaced by buses.

22:19 and 23:22 Bedwyn to Reading will be replaced by buses.


08:57 London Paddington to Plymouth will be retimed and diverted between Reading and Westbury, not calling at Newbury. If you are travelling to or from Newbury you should travel on the next available service.

The following services will be replaced by road transport:

  • 00:15 and 08:12 Reading to Newbury
  • 08:42 Reading to Bedwyn
  • 08:48 Newbury to Reading
  • 09:35 Bedwyn to Reading
