South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Poole / Weymouth, between Southampton Central and Basingstoke / Portsmouth & Southsea / Weymouth and also between Romsey and Salisbury / Totton via Southampton Central

Description

Work on the signalling equipment is taking place between Southampton Central and Bournemouth / Eastleigh / Fareham / Romsey on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 February, and to allow this to happen, all lines will be closed between these stations.

The following changes to the train service are currently expected:

CrossCountry:

CrossCountry services will be revised to terminate at / start back from Eastleigh.

Buses will replace trains between Eastleigh, Southampton Airport Parkway, Southampton Central, Brockenhurst and Bournemouth.

Great Western Railway:

Great Western Railway services will not call at Southampton Central, running train services will instead divert via Fareham and Eastleigh, calling additionally at Chandlers Ford and Romsey.

Customers for Southampton Central are advised to travel via Eastleigh and then use their ticket to travel on South Western Railway rail replacement bus services between Eastleigh and Southampton Central.

Great Western Railway services will not run from / to Brighton. Customers may use their ticket on board Southern services between Brighton and Portsmouth Harbour, and on alternative Great Western Railway services from / to Portsmouth Harbour.

Southern:

Southern services will be diverted to run to / from Portsmouth & Southsea. Customers for stations towards Southampton Central should use South Western Railway train / bus services.

South Western Railway:

Saturday

Train services between London Waterloo and Poole / Weymouth will only run between London Waterloo and Eastleigh and between Brockenhurst and Poole / Weymouth.

Train services between Portsmouth Harbour and Southampton Central will not run.

Rail replacement buses will run between Eastleigh and Bournemouth / Brockenhurst, between Eastleigh and Romsey / Southampton Central and also between Southampton Central and Bournemouth.

Travel advice for customers wanting to travel to / from stations between Fareham and Southampton Central is yet to be published.

Sunday

Rail replacement buses will run between Eastleigh and Bournemouth / Brockenhurst, between Eastleigh / Woolston and Southampton Central and also between Southampton Central and Bournemouth.
