Description

Overnight engineering work is taking place between Cardiff and Bridgend each night from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 March, closing the line via Pontyclun.

Engineering work is also taking place between Warrington and Manchester. As a result of the line closures, the following alterations will be in place:

Monday to Thursday:

The 17:20 Crewe to Cardiff Central service will be diverted between Bridgend and Cardiff Central (via Barry).

The 19:30 Manchester Piccadilly to Fishguard Harbour service will run later than usual from Cardiff Central onwards. This service will be diverted via Barry. A bus will run from Cardiff Central to Bridgend via Pontyclun to connect with this train.

The 21:04 Birmingham International to Manchester Piccadilly service will be replaced by a bus between Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Piccadilly.

Tuesday to Friday

The 00:32 Manchester Piccadilly to Chester service will be replaced by a bus.

The 02:37 Fishguard Harbour to Cardiff Central service will be retimed to run later than usual.
