Engineering work is taking place between Wigan North Western and Euxton Balshaw Lane from 11:55 on Saturday until 12:15 on Monday, closing some lines.
Engineering work will also be taking place between Patricroft and Wigan North Western all day on Sunday.
Saturday after 11:55 and Monday until 12:00
Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Blackpool North will operate with a reduced frequency, with trains running between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western and between Preston and Blackpool North.
Replacement road transport will then operate between Wigan North Western and Preston.
Trains between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North will be revised to only run between Manchester Airport and Wigan North Western.
Customers are advised to use replacement road transport between Wigan North Western and Preston, then connect with alternative trains between Preston and Blackpool North.
Sunday
Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Blackpool North will be revised to only run between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western.
Replacement road transport will operate between Wigan North Western and Preston with customers advised to use alternative services between Preston and Blackpool North.
Trains between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North via Wigan North Western will be diverted via Bolton and Chorley, not calling at Wigan North Western.
Trains between Manchester Airport and Preston via Chorley will not run.
Replacement road transport will operate between Wigan North Western and Preston with alternative trains available between Manchester Oxford Road / Salford Central and Wigan North Western / Wigan Wallgate and between Preston and Blackpool North.
