Closure of the 'Oldham Loop' stations from Sunday 4 October 2009 until 2011 / 2012
As part of the extension of the Manchester Metrolink tram service, National Rail services have now stopped serving stations around the 'Oldham Loop'
The stations which have closed are Dean Lane, Failsworth, Hollinwood, Oldham Werneth, Oldham Mumps, Derker, Shaw & Crompton, New Hey and Milnrow.
The line will remain closed until 2011 or 2012, with the line being reopened in stages as part of the Metrolink network, and when complete tram services will run between central Manchester and Rochdale via Oldham.
