A normal weekday service will run.
Saturday 24 December Christmas Eve
A normal Saturday service will run until mid-afternoon, then some services will start to be withdrawn. All services will finish earlier in the day than usual.
Sunday 25 December Christmas Day
No CrossCountry services will run
 Monday 26 December
Boxing Day
No CrossCountry services will run
Tuesday 27 December Bank Holiday
Trains will start later in the day than usual (from approximately 08:00), then a normal weekday service will run, subject to engineering work.
Wednesday 28 December A normal weekday service will run, subject to engineering work.
Thursday 29 December A normal weekday service will run, subject to engineering work.
Friday 30 December A normal weekday service will run, subject to engineering work.
Saturday 31 December New Years Eve
A normal Saturday service will run until approximately 20:00, then services will finish earlier in the day than usual, and are subject to engieering work.
Sunday 1 January 2012
New Years Day
A normal Sunday service will run, subject to engineering work.
Monday 2 January Bank Holiday
A normal weekday service will run, subject to engineering work.
Tuesday 3 January A normal weekday service will run, subject to any engineering work.

Engineering work between Reading and Oxford
Tuesday 27 December - Sunday 1 January:

Buses replace trains between Oxford and Reading / Winchester.

Also because of this, trains between Reading / Southampton Central and Newcastle will only run between Birmingham New Street and Newcastle. Customers will need to change trains at Birmingham New Street.

Monday 2 January:

The 05:11 Manchester Piccadilly to Bournemouth service will terminate at Oxford, with a replacement bus service to Reading / Winchester. An additional train will run at 08:46 from Reading to Bournemouth. Also, the 06:33 Birmingham New Street to Southampton Central service will not run. All other trains after these are expected to run.
2 Tuesday 27 December Engineering work between Wolverhampton and Stafford Until 12:00, trains will be diverted between Birmingham New Street and Stafford and will not call at Wolverhampton. Customers should use alternative train services between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton, and a replacement bus service will run between Wolverhampton and Stafford.
3 Saturday 31 December to Monday 2 January Engineering work between Nuneaton and Melton Mowbray After 19:30 on Saturday, and throughout Sunday and Monday, buses replace trains between Nuneaton and Melton Mowbray.

Customers travelling to Stansted Airport for flight connections should allow an extra 60 minutes for their journey.
4 Sunday 1 January Engineering work between Edinburgh and Inverkeithing No trains will run between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central / Aberdeen. Please note that there are also no ScotRail services operating on any route today.
5 Sunday 1 January

Engineering work between Stafford and Manchester Piccadilly

Trains will be diverted between Stafford and Manchester Piccadilly. Buses will run between Stafford and Manchester Piccadilly via Stoke-on-Trent and Stockport. 
6 Sunday 1 January Engineering work between Sheffield and Chesterfield Trains will be diverted, with journey times extended by up to 30 minutes. No station stops will be missed.

Trains will be finishing earlier in the day than usual on Christmas Eve (Saturday 24 December) and New Years Eve (Saturday 31 December). This shows the final direct CrossCountry services. Ticket Arrangements

Off-Peak Ticket Restrictions
Between Tuesday 27 December and Monday 2 January (inclusive), peak-time ticket restrictions will be withdrawn.
First Class Upgrades
Between Tuesday 27 December and Monday 2 January (inclusive), CrossCountry customers will be able to purchase an upgrade to First Class from the on-train staff, subject to available space on the train. Prices for upgrades start from £10.
