MORE NEW FEATURES OF THE ONLINE JOURNEY PLANNER
Based on customer feedback National Rail Enquires has introduced some new and exciting functionality that we think will be of direct benefit to the travelling public.Pocket timetables – as the name suggests users are now able to create a timetable tailored to their individual needs that can either be printed off or saved as a PDF to keep on a computer or PDA. This will be of most benefit to commuters who regularly travel between two points, but will also be of benefit to travellers who know they are travelling on a date, but aren't quite sure when, as Pocket Timetable displays a four hour window of possible journeys.

Season ticket calculator – perhaps the most requested piece of functionality. This new functionality will allow users to enter where they travel from and to, and then presents to the user the prices of a number of season ticket options – including different routes if there is an option to travel more than one way.

Search by fare – this functionality will let the user of nationalrail.co.uk search for a specific ticket (including that elusive bargain ticket that can never be found!) over a number of dates that the user inputs. If there is availability, the system will then return the times of trains that the specified ticket can be bought for travel on.

Advanced search options – National Rail Enquiries has introduced an Advanced Search page that will allow the user to enter more than one Via. We have added the ability for users to Avoid stations or places, for example, Cambridge to Basingstoke avoiding London will be possible. It's also now possible to Reduce Transfer Time on routes that go though London.
If you do have any suggestions as to what you would like to see included in the National Rail Enquiries online journey planner, please do not hesitate to contact us via the feedback forms. We will try and incorporate as many feasible ideas as possible as part of our drive to meet the journey planning needs of the customer.
