Some tickets may require you to travel at specific times of the day, days of the week or on a specific route. Our Journey Planner takes ticket restrictions into account with the selection that you have made and will only have shown tickets that are valid for the selected trains.

  • Luton after 02:29 and before 11:03;

  • Luton Airport Parkway after 02:29 and before 11:16;

  • Bedford after 04:29 and before 10:30;

  • Watford Junction after 06:43 and before 10:45;

  • Milton Keynes Central after 06:38 and before 10:49.

Return Travel

Not valid for departures from:

  • London Terminals (except as shown below) after 02:59 and before 09:06 and after 14:59 and before 18:59 (18:15 on Fridays);

  • London Liverpool Street  after 04:29 and before 09:30 or after 16:28 and before 18:35;

  • London St Pancras International after 04:29 and before 10:05 and after 15:34 and before 18:48 (including trains passing through);

  • London Euston after 04:29 and before 09:26 and after 15:00 and before 18:45;

  • Stevenage after 02:59 and before 09:19 and after 15:07 and before 19:01 (18:35 on Fridays);

  • Bedford after 04:29 and before 10:30;

Notes

Break of journey is permitted: For long-haul train journeys, if a customer begins their journey at such a time that the timetable does not facilitate completion of the journey into their destination, customers may break their journey overnight. The same time restrictions apply for any continuation of travel on day 2 in this scenario.

Customers must not travel on CrossCountry services before 09:30.

Valid on Caledonian Sleeper services (with supplement).

Seasonal Variations

Restrictions will be lifted for trains departing from and arriving at London Kings Cross and Stevenage on a Friday until further notice. Any other restrictions relevant to the journey still apply.

Evening restrictions will be lifted for northbound trains departing London Kings Cross and Stevenage on Thursday 28th March 2024 due to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Restrictions will be lifted between Friday 29th March 2024 and Monday 1st April 2024 in both directions.

Restrictions will be lifted on Monday 6th and Monday 27th May 2024 in both directions.

Generally, Friday evening restriction easements apply on a Thursday before any Friday that is a Bank Holiday where travelling north from London Kings Cross or Stevenage.
