An altered service will operate due to the following engineering work:

- Engineering work between Wigan North Western and St Helens Central (also continues with same arrangements on Tuesday 25 March):
Services between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western will start from & terminate at St Helens Central. A replacement bus service will be in operation between St Helens Central and Wigan North Western, calling at all stations.

Services between Liverpool Lime Street and Preston/Blackpool North will be diverted and will no longer call at St Helens Central. A replacement bus service will be in operation between St Helens Central and Wigan North Western, calling at all stations.  

Services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Victoria via Wigan North Western will be diverted between Huyton and Wigan North Western via St Helens Junction. Customers for stations between Huyton and Wigan North Western via Prescot should use alternative train services to St Helens Central, and replacement bus services between St Helens Central and Wigan North Western

- Engineering work between Sheffield and Meadowhall :
Replacement bus services will be in operation between Sheffield and Meadowhall, with services to/from Doncaster, Wakefield, Leeds, Barnsley & Huddersfield starting from and terminating at Meadowhall. Services between Sheffield and Lincoln will start from and terminate at Worksop, with a replacement bus service in operation between Worksop and Sheffield, calling at all stations.

- Engineering work between Edge Hill and Hunts Cross (continues to Friday 28 March):
After approximately 22:30, replacement bus services will be in operation between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Lime Street.

- Engineering work between St Bees and Drigg

Trains will operate between Carlisle and Whitehaven, and between Ravenglass and Barrow-in-Furness (and beyond). Buses will be provided between Whitehaven and Ravenglass. Buses will not be able to call at Braystones or Nethertown - customers wishing to travel to or from these stations should contact Northern Customer Services 0845 00 00 125 to arrange alternative transport.
