The Highland Railcard discount is only available on the following routes:
- Mallaig/Fort William/Oban – Glasgow
- Wick/Thurso – Inverness
- Kyle of Lochalsh - Inverness
The railcard is available to residents aged 16 or over, of selected postcodes in the North and West Highland regions. The railcard costs £7.50 and is valid for one year
Discounts available
Adult
The card holder is entitled to 50% discount on SD,CD, SV and SO ticket types. There is no minimum fare
Children
Accompanying children may travel for a flat fare of £2.00
Key conditions
You can travel at anytime, but the price of your ticket will vary depending on the time of your selected journey and you must carry your Highland Railcard with you when you travel to validate your ticket.
You cannot get a refund for your Highland Railcard. Refund conditions for tickets bought with a Highland Railcard are subject to your selected rail ticket conditions

The Highland Railcard can be purchased from Inverness, Dingwall, Kyle of Lochalsh, Thurso, Wick and Oban stations or by post to the following address enclosing your application form, proof of residence and payment:
