The Lakes Day Ranger offers excellent value for a car free day out in Englands Lake District and the county of Cumbria.
The ticket includes travel on:
RAIL
Northern Rail, Virgin Trains and TransPennine Express services between:
- Lancaster and Workington (via Barrow in Furness)
- Lancaster and Penrith / Windermere (via Oxenholme Lake District)
- Lancaster and Morecambe and Heysham Port
BUS
All Stagecoach buses within Cumbria (except school buses) and also service 555/6 between Cumbria and Lancaster.
The following Cumbria County Council bus services:
- 6 Whithaven - Muncaster
- 106 Penrith - Shap - Kendal
- 532 Grange-over-Sands - Cark Peninsular
- 563 Penrith - Appleby - Kirkby Stephen
- X12 Coniston - Ulverston
BOATS
A Cruise on Lake Windermere from Ambleside, Bowness or Lakeside using Windermere Lake Cruises scheduled services.

Tickets are available at all times, but please note that there are no train services between Barrow-in-Furness and Whitehaven on Sundays. Bus services are limited on Sundays and Bank Holidays, as are boat services during winter months.

Tickets can be bought at ticket offices at any staffed railway station or from conductors on trains when starting your journey from unstaffed stations or where the ticket office is closed.
NOTE: Tickets cannot be bought on bus or boat.
