By buying the HM Forces Railcard you can save 1/3 on most rail fares.
The Railcard is available to all members of the regular armed forces, certain reservists, and in most cases the partners and dependent children of eligible members.
The Railcard also lets you take up to four children, under 16 years, for less with 60% off normal child fares, subject to a £1 minimum fare, anywhere in the country.
With the HM Forces Railcard the cardholder can receive the following discounts:
- 34% discount - Anytime, Anytime Day, Off-Peak, Off-Peak Day, Super Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak Day, Advance, Off Peak Travelcard, Weekender, European First, European Standard and European Saver.
- 10% discount – Caledonian Sleeper First Open and Standard Open.
Ticket types are subject to change/withdrawal.
You may use discounted and child tickets in Sleeper accommodation provided each ticket holder pays the appropriate Sleeper supplement.

A valid Railcard and Photocard must be presented whenever a discounted ticket is purchased.
Not valid:
- For regular travel to place of employment, duty or education.
- On any shipping or ferry services (except to/from the Isle of Wight).
- On London underground services except for Zones 1-6 Off Peak day Travelcards and through train journeys across London on tickets routed 'Via London'.

The Railcard discount is not available on tickets on morning peak period services, Monday to Friday (not including Public Holidays), when journeys are made wholly within the London and South East area (including all South West Trains services to and from London Waterloo).
Please check with the local ticket office staff before buying tickets.
For journeys not made wholly within the London and South East area made at or before 10am, Monday to Friday (excluding July & August and Public Holidays), a minimum fare applies.

To apply for your Railcard please see your Unit HR admin staff.
HM Forces Railcards cannot be purchased at National Rail stations.
