Get 50% discount off normal adult non advance purchase off-peak fares on rail travel within Suffolk.

Offer details

As long as you live in Suffolk, and are over the age of 5 and under 20, you are eligible for the Explore Get On Board card.

This also includes you if you are:

A student who boards at a school in Suffolk
A student who lives in Suffolk and attends one of its colleges
A student at a USAF school in Suffolk
A young person in residential care

Unfortunately if you go to school or college in Suffolk, but your home address is not in the county, you do not qualify for an Explore card.

Cardholders will be able to obtain a 50 per cent discount rate on single and return adult fares on virtually all registered local bus routes and 50 per cent discount off normal adult off-peak fares on rail travel within Suffolk.

You can travel outside of Suffolk, providing you buy a return journey ticket and your journey does not require you to change your bus or train.

Off-peak tickets from National Express include:

single and return
Anglia Plus – one day and 3 days in 7 passes

Off-peak tickets are available weekends and bank holidays, and are normally after 08:45 Monday to Friday.

In addition, National Express offers a discount on off-peak tickets to the following destinations outside Suffolk:

Cambridge
Chelmsford
Colchester
Diss
Ely
Harwich
Manningtree
Norwich

Rail journeys to destinations outside Suffolk must either start from a station within the county, or from one of the following:

Bures
Diss
Haddiscoe
Manningtree
Thetford

For destinations outside Suffolk, Explore Cardholders must buy a return rail ticket before travelling. Apart from at the stations listed above.
