Great Western Railway between Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour / Taunton / Plymouth / Penzance

Description

Engineering work is taking place between Severn Tunnel Junction and Patchway / Bristol Parkway, closing some lines.

Friday 16 June

Last GWR services from Cardiff Central this evening are scheduled to leave at:

21:20 for London Paddington

22:18 for Newport

23:30 for Bristol Temple Meads (replacement bus service taking approximately 90 minutes)

23:51 for Swansea


Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June

Cardiff Central - Portsmouth Harbour:

Trains will start / terminate at Bristol Parkway.

Rail replacement buses will run between Newport and Bristol Parkway (calling at Severn Tunnel Junction and Patchway).

If you are travelling between Cardiff Central and Newport you should use alternative rail services to complete your journey.

Cardiff Central - Taunton (and beyond):

Trains will start / terminate at Bristol Parkway.

Rail replacement buses will run between Newport and Bristol Parkway (calling at Severn Tunnel Junction and Patchway).

If you are travelling between Cardiff Central and Newport you should use alternative rail services to complete your journey.

Rail connections are also available at Bristol Temple Meads to Taunton (and beyond).

Carmarthen / Swansea and London Paddington:

Services will divert between Bristol Parkway and Swindon (via Gloucester calling to pick up only from London / drop of only towards London). They will not call at Bristol Parkway. These services will be retimed to run earlier / later than usual, and will run to an amended timetable.

There will be some direct trains between Bristol Parkway and London Paddington at busy times. Outside of these times you should travel via Bristol Temple Meads for alternative rail services.

Rail replacement buses will run between Newport and Bristol Parkway (calling at Severn Tunnel Junction and Patchway). These will connect in to / out of diverted train services.

Ticket Acceptance:

You can also use CrossCountry services between Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads to connect in and out of train services towards Taunton.
