Description

Engineering work is taking place between Daisy Hill and Wigan, between Bolton and Blackrod / Hindley, closing some lines.

Northern

The following alterations will apply:

  • Services between Blackpool North and Manchester Airport will be diverted via Wigan North Western and will not call at stations via Bolton

  • Services between Barrow-in-Furness / Windermere and Manchester Airport will call additionally at intermediate stations between Preston and Bolton, and will terminate at Bolton

  • Services between Manchester Airport and Windermere / Barrow-in-Furness will start from Bolton, and will call additionally at intermediate stations between Bolton and Preston

  • Services between Blackburn and Southport will run between Wigan Wallgate and Southport only

  • Services between Stalybridge and Wigan Wallgate, in both directions, will terminate at / start from Bolton

Buses will be provided between Manchester Victoria and Wigan Wallgate via Atherton, and between Bolton and Wigan Wallgate.

TransPennine Express

  • Services running between Manchester Airport and Preston will be diverted between Deansgate and Preston via Wigan North Western, and will not call at Bolton.
