Description

Lines have now reopened following urgent repairs to the track between Crewe and Wilmslow. Whilst service recovers, trains running between Crewe and Wilmslow may still be revised, delayed by up to 20 minutes or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 13:00.

Train services are now able to run between Crewe and Sandbach (in both directions).

What should I do?

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Northern tickets may be used at no additional cost on board East Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway services between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe (in both directions) for connections to / from Manchester Piccadilly.

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
