Some Southeastern Metro Routes at Off-Peak times
50 million leaves fall onto our train tracks every autumn. When mixed with rain and compressed under train wheels, they form a thin layer which can be as treacherous and slippery as black ice.
It's forecast that our trains will have less grip on the tracks because of weather conditions and leaf fall, and so on weekdays until Friday 8 December we'll be running a revised Off-Peak metro timetable to give our drivers more time to drive the trains safely.
This is aside from on Wednesday 6 December when there will be no Southeastern service in operation due to ASLEF Union industrial action.
