ScotRail between Glasgow Central and Motherwell / Edinburgh / Lanark / Newton / Larkhall, and also between Balloch / Milngavie and Larkhall / Motherwell

TransPennine Express between Glasgow Central and Manchester Airport

Virgin Trains between Glasgow Central and Birmingham New Street / London Euston

Description

Engineering work is taking place just outside of Glasgow Central station towards Rutherglen, closing some lines.

CrossCountry:

Services will be replaced by buses between Glasgow Central and Motherwell.

ScotRail:

The following alterations will apply to the service to / from the Glasgow Central High Level station:

  • Lanark services will operate by Cathcart, not calling at Cambuslang. An hourly bus service will operate to help with journeys.
  • Newton services will be extended to Larkhall and Motherwell
  • Shotts services will be replaced by buses between Glasgow Central and Carfin

The following alterations will apply to the service to / from the Glasgow Central Low Level station:

  • Buses will replace trains between Bridgeton and Motherwell (via Whifflet and Hamilton)
  • Buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central Low Level and Motherwell / Carfin

TransPennine Express:

Services will be diverted, and will arrive at Glasgow Central up to 15 minutes later than usual, and depart Glasgow Central up to 15 minutes earlier than usual.

Virgin Trains:

Services will be diverted via Mount Florida, increasing journey times by a few minutes. Some services will be amended to not run between Glasgow Central and Carlisle.
