Major improvement work is taking place between Norwich and Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft, and also between Oulton Broad South and Lowestoft, closing all lines for the full week.

Buses will replace trains between:

  • Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
  • Norwich and Lowestoft.
  • Oulton Broad South and Lowestoft.

Project Information:

Network Rail are replacing the old mechanical signalling equipment with modern technology using colour LED signals. They are also replacing manually operated switches with powered switches controlled by a remote computer based signalling system.

Track layout at several locations will also be improved to cater for increasing capacity and reliability demands of a modern railway.
