Description

Station improvement work is taking place at Gloucester from Sunday 21 to Monday 26 July.

There will be no trains at Gloucester on Sunday and Monday and there will be a reduced number of platforms available at Gloucester from Tuesday to Friday. 

Alterations to CrossCountry services:

On Sunday and Monday:

Buses will replace trains between Cheltenham Spa and Newport.

From Tuesday to Friday:

Buses will replace trains between Gloucester and Newport. 

Alterations to Great Western Railway services:

On Sunday and Monday:

Trains to / from Great Malvern / Worcester Shrub Hill / Cheltenham Spa will divert between Cheltenham Spa and Cam & Dursley, not calling at Gloucester.

Trains running between Cheltenham Spa and Swindon / London Paddington will divert between Cheltenham Spa and Stonehouse, not calling at Gloucester. Some trains may be retimed between Cheltenham Spa and Swindon.

To help you complete your journey, buses will replace trains between Cheltenham Spa and Gloucester and between Gloucester and Cam & Dursley.

From Tuesday to Friday:

A reduced number of platforms will be available at Gloucester, however most trains will call as normal at the station, except for the below:

  • Some early morning and late evening trains will be revised not to call at Gloucester. For services affected, replacement buses will run between Cheltenham Spa and Gloucester and between Gloucester and Cam & Dursley.
  • All trains which run between Cheltenham Spa and London Paddington will divert between Cheltenham Spa and Stonehouse, not calling at Gloucester. An hourly replacement bus service will run between Cheltenham Spa and Gloucester.

Alterations to Transport for Wales services: 

On Sunday:

Buses will replace trains between Gloucester and Newport.

From Monday to Friday:

Buses will replace trains between Gloucester and Lydney.
