CrossCountry between Nottingham / Birmingham New Street and Cardiff Central

Great Western Railway between London Paddington Swansea / Carmarthen also between Portsmouth Harbour / Weymouth and Cardiff Central

Transport for Wales on the following routes:

  • Manchester Piccadilly / Hereford and Cardiff Central, 
  • Newport and Milford Haven
  • Barry Island and Aberdare / Merthyr Tydfil / Treherbert
  • Ebbw Vale Town and Cardiff Central
  • Rhymney and Cardiff Central

Description

Engineering work is taking place between Newport and Cardiff Central, closing various lines throughout the day.

Until 14:00 the following alterations will apply:

CrossCountry trains are replaced by buses between Chepstow and Cardiff Central.

Great Western Railway trains are replaced by buses between Newport and Cardiff Central with some replacement buses extended to run from / to Bristol Parkway.

Some trains between Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour / Brighton will be amended to run between Bristol Parkway and Fratton as a result of engineering work in the Chichester area.

Transport for Wales trains are replaced by buses between Newport and Cardiff Central with some buses extended to / from Bridgend.

Replacement buses will also run between Rhymney and Cardiff Central

Trains between Ebbw Vale Town and Cardiff Central will not run. There is no alternative replacement transport.

All day the following alterations will apply to Transport for Wales trains:

Valley Lines trains between Cardiff Central and Radyr are diverted to run via Ninian Park. Replacement buses will run between Cardiff Central and Radyr for all stations via Cardiff Queen Street.
