Description

Engineering work is taking place between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway / Patchway, closing all lines.

Trains will not run between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway / Patchway. As a result of this, trains in the Bristol area will run to an amended timetable, with some trains being cancelled, replaced by road transport or being diverted with extended journey times. If you are travelling late at night, please check your journey to ensure you meet your connections.

Trains will divert via an alternative route not calling at Bristol Parkway. Journey times will be extended by one hour.

Rail replacement road transport will operate between

  • Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway
  • Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Parkway

Great Western Railway

Trains between Worcester Shrub Hill and Bristol Temple Meads (some beyond)

Trains will be amended to run between Worcester Shrub Hill and  Cardiff Central via Bristol Parkway.

After 14:00 there will be additional trains between Gloucester, Bristol Parkway, Severn Tunnel Junction, Newport and Cardiff Central

Some trains will call at Patchway.

Trains between Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour / Brighton

Trains will start/terminate Bristol Temple Meads and not run between Cardiff Central and Bristol Temple Meads

Road Transport will operate (hourly) between:

  • Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads (fast) taking 25 minutes,
  • Bristol Parkway, Filton Abbey Wood 

Trains between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads (and beyond)

  • 11:15 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads will depart earlier at 11:14.
  • 16:15 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads will divert after Swindon to terminate at Bristol Parkway. It will NOT call Chippenham and Bath Spa (Chippenham, Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads customers to use alternative trains).
  • 23:03 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads will NOT run.
  • 08:14, 11:25 and 12:40 Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington will NOT start from Bristol Temple Meads. They will start from Bristol Parkway and will then be diverted to Swindon, NOT calling Bath Spa and Chippenham. (Bristol Temple Meads, Bath Spa and Chippenham customers to use alternative trains).

Trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Clifton Down / Avonmouth / Severn Beach

Trains will NOT run and will be replaced by road transport.
