Description

Engineering work, as part of the TransPennine Route Upgrade, is taking place between Manchester Victoria and Moston / Stalybridge, closing all lines from Saturday 31 July until Sunday 15 August.

Alterations to the Northern service:

Every day -

Chester / Manchester Victoria – Leeds via Halifax: Trains will run between Moston and Leeds only.

Wigan Wallgate / Manchester Victoria – Leeds via Brighouse: Trains will run between Wigan Wallgate and Manchester Victoria, and between Hebden Bridge and Leeds.

Manchester Victoria – Blackburn via Todmorden: Trains will run at a reduced frequency (2 hourly) between Rochdale and Blackburn.

Buses will run between Manchester Victoria and Rochdale.  Alternative journeys are available between Manchester Piccadilly and stations to Chester.

Monday to Saturday only -

Trains will not run between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge. Buses will operate between Guide Bridge and Stalybridge calling at Ashton-under-Lyne. You should use train services between Manchester Piccadilly and Guide Bridge for travel to / from Stalybridge.

Sunday only -

Buses replace trains between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge.

 

Alterations to the TransPennine Express service:

Liverpool Lime Street - Newcastle:

Trains will be amended to run between Manchester Piccadilly and Newcastle only. A replacement bus service will run between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly.

From Monday - Saturday, an additional service will run between Manchester Airport and Liverpool, calling at Lea Green and Newton-le-Willows. On Sundays, you should use other train services between Manchester and Liverpool.

Manchester Airport - Redcar:

Services will be amended to run between Manchester Piccadilly and Redcar, and will additionally call at Stalybridge. At busy times, these services will call at all stations between Stalybridge and Huddersfield.

Manchester Piccadilly - Huddersfield:

These services will not run. Manchester Piccadilly - Hull services will be amended to call at stations between Stalybridge and Huddersfield.
