Amended evening Northern trains in the Manchester area from Monday 27 to Thursday 30 September

Engineering work is taking place at various locations on the Northern network, closing some lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

As a result:

  • The 22:47 Sheffield to Manchester Piccadilly service will not call at New Mills Central, Strines, Marple, Romiley, Bredbury, Brinnington, Reddish North, Ryder Brow, Belle Vue or Ashburys. The train will then terminate at Stockport. Rail connections are available between Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly, and a replacement bus will run between Chinley and Manchester Piccadilly.
  • The 22:59 Buxton to Manchester Piccadilly service will terminate at Stockport. Onward rail connections are available towards Manchester Piccadilly.
  • The 23:22 New Mills Central to Manchester Piccadilly service will be bus replaced throughout.
  • The 23:29 Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop service will be bus replaced throughout. One bus will run from Manchester Piccadilly to Hadfield calling at Ashburys, Gorton, Guide Bridge, Flowery Field, Newton for Hyde, Godley, Glossop, Dinting and Hadfield. A second bus will run from Godley to Hadfield calling at Hattersley, Broadbottom, Glossop, Dinting and Hadfield.
