Amended evening trains in the Manchester area from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 November

Various Northern routes

Engineering work is taking place at various locations on the Northern network, closing some lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

As a result:

  • The 22:47 Sheffield to Manchester Piccadilly service will not call at New Mills Central, Strines, Marple, Romiley, Bredbury, Brinnington, Reddish North, Ryder Brow, Belle Vue or Ashburys. The train will then terminate at Stockport. Alternative rail connections will run between Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly. A replacement bus will run from Chinley to Manchester Piccadilly for the above stations.
  • The 22:55 Buxton to Manchester Piccadilly service will terminate at Stockport. Onward rail connections are available.
  • The 23:22 New Mills Central to Manchester Piccadilly service will be replaced by a bus throughout.
  • The 23:29 Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop service will be replaced by buses throughout. One bus will run from Manchester Piccadilly to Hadfield, calling at Ashburys, Gorton, Guide Bridge, Flowery Field, Newton for Hyde, Godley, Glossop and Dinting. A second bus will run from Godley to Hadfield via Hattersley, Broadbottom, Glossop and Dinting.
