Description

Northern are operating several amended and reduced timetables across their network. 

Services are being affected by COVID and its impact on the availability of train crew, with some timetables being reduced and some services cancelled at short notice. Online journey planners including websites and apps are being updated with any planned cancellations.

This will mainly affect services operating from Monday to Saturday. Temporary timetables for upcoming dates can be found on the Northern website. Alongside planned cancellations, there may be on the day alterations, therefore it is recommended that you check your journey before you travel.

If your train has been cancelled, you can travel on an earlier or later Northern service. Trains on affected routes are expected to be busier so please allow additional time to travel. Northern are adding standby buses, where available, to locations across the network to support if required. More information can be found here

Check before you travel:

If you are travelling on days up to and including Saturday 12 February, you can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. However, we strongly advise anyone travelling to check before you travel, particularly on the day of travel. 

If you are travelling on days from Sunday 13 February onwards, please check back closer towards your intended time of travel.
