Future engineering work

Engineering work is taking place between Bristol Parkway and Severn Tunnel Junction, closing all lines over the weekend and throughout the week.

CrossCountry:

Monday to Friday:

The 05:20 Bristol Temple Meads to Cardiff Central service will not run.

Great Western Railway:

Trains between London Paddington and Cardiff Central / Swansea / Carmarthen will be diverted to run via Gloucester (not calling), extending journey times by up to and hour. These trains will not call at Bristol Parkway.

Trains between Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour will be amended to run to / from Bristol Parkway instead of Cardiff Central. Rail connections are available between Cardiff Central and Newport.

Replacement buses will run between Bristol Parkway and Newport (fast and stopping). A limited replacement bus service will also run between Bristol Parkway and Pilning.
