Southend-on-Sea is a seaside resort town situated 40 miles east of Central London on the north side of the Thames estuary. London Southend airport is located approximately 2 miles north of the Town Centre. Southend Victoria is a busy terminus Station, located in the heart of the Town Centre that sees approximately 1.3 million passengers each year. Southend Victoria railway station was first opened in 1889. Recently it benefited from a £7million revamp as part of a restoration project. The station significantly contributed to the development of Southend-on-Sea resort town in Essex that is situated 41 miles (66.83km) from London Liverpool Street. Southend Victoria is the terminus station of the Shenfield to Southend Line, a branch off the Great Eastern Main Line. The station is equipped with four platforms. All trains directed to London Liverpool street depart from either platform 3 or 4.

On weekdays Greater Anglia operates three direct off-peak trains per hour to Liverpool Street. On Sundays only two trains per hour are directed to Liverpool Street. The average train journey between Southend Victoria and London Liverpool Street is 1 hour 11 minutes. The first train departs from Southend Victoria at 4:00am, while the last train is at 11:20pm. Passengers can travel with C2C trains to London Fenchurch street and then walk to London Liverpool Street. Greater Anglia offers regular train services departing every 20 minutes from Southend Victoria directed to Southend Airport. With the same frequency Greater Anglia operates direct railway service to Stratford. The train journey can take up to 51 minutes, providing travellers easy access to Stratford Westfield.
