For a summary of the timetable changes for Autumn 2017, please click on your train operator below:

 

Arriva Trains Wales

There are no changes to main line services. However, some Cardiff Valley routes will have slightly amended timetables. These are as follows:

Rhymney -

  • Between 09:28-15:28, one train per hour will start from Ystrad Mynach and call at all stations to Cardiff Central, except Energlyn
  • Between 09:00-16:00, two trains per hour will start from Bargoed at xx00 / xx25 and run through to Cardiff Central
  • Between 08:46-14:46, one train per hour from Cardiff Central will terminate at Ystrad Mynach
  • Monday - Friday there will be no 10:00 Cardiff Central - Bargoed, or 11:00 Bargoed - Cardiff Central

Treherbert (Monday-Friday) -

  • 11:17 Treherbert - Cardiff Central will run later from Porth to Cardiff Central and not call at Llandaf, Cathays or Cardiff Queen Street
  • 10:36 Cardiff Central - Treherbert will start at 10:31 and run earlier to Radyr. It will not call at Cardiff Queen Street, Cathays or Llandaf

Treherbert (Saturdays) -

  • 13:17 Treherbert - Cardiff Central will run later from Porth to Cardiff Central and not call at Llandaf, Cathays or Cardiff Queen Street
  • 12:36 Cardiff Central - Treherbert will run earlier from Cardiff Central to Radyr and not call at Cardiff Queen Street, Cathays or Llandaf

Caledonian Sleeper

Caledonian Sleeper do not operate an amended timetable.

Chiltern Railways

Through the leaf fall period Chiltern Railways advise customers that the following alterations apply:

  • Trains may arrive at their destination up to 3 minutes later than published arrival times
  • Southbound Met Line trains Aylesbury - London Marylebone will depart each station up to 3 minutes earlier than the summer timetable

CrossCountry

CrossCountry do not operate an amended timetable.

East Midlands Trains

The following alterations apply:

Crewe to Derby route - Arrival times at destinations are slightly later
Matlock to Derby route - Arrival times at Matlock are slightly later. Trains depart Matlock and all stations up to Ambergate 1 minute earlier
Lincoln to Nottingham route - Arrival times at destinations are slightly later

Gatwick Express

From Monday 16 October to Friday 8 December an amended timetable will run. Changes will be made to reduce congestion and reactionary delays to Gatwick Express and other services on the Brighton Mainline, more details here.

Grand Central

Grand Central do not operate an amended timetable.

Great Western Railway

Great Western Railway do not operate an amended timetable.

Greater Anglia

During the period of 9 October to 8 December, services before 07:30 Monday-Friday may run on a slightly altered timetable. This will affect the following routes:

  • Norwich / Stowmarket and Ipswich / London Liverpool Street

Heathrow Express

Heathrow Express do not operate an amended timetable.

Hull Trains do not operate an amended timetable.

Island Line

Island Line do not operate an amended timetable.

London Midland

'Abbey Line' (Watford Junction - St Albans Abbey): An Autumn Timetable will operate Monday - Saturday during the period of Monday 23rd October to Saturday 9th December. The following alterations apply:

  • Services are retimed with slightly extended journey times and other minor retimings

'Cross City Line' (Lichfield - Birmingham New Street): An Autmn Timetable will operate Monday - Saturday during the period of Monday 30th October to Saturday 9th December. A normal timetable will operate after approximately 20:00. The following alterations apply:

Cross City North -

  • 15 and 45 minutes past the hour departures from Lichfield City to Longbridge will depart 2 minutes later and run non-stop between Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham New Street
  • 07:40 Lichfield Trent Valley - Redditch will start forward from Lichfield City and will only omit Duddeston
  • 08:10 Lichfield Trent Valley - Longbridge will only omit Duddeston
  • 45 minutes past the hour Longbridge - Lichfield City and 55 minutes past the hour Redditch - Lichfield City will run non-stop from Birmingham New Street to Sutton Coldfield. These services will depart Birmingham New Street as booked, but Sutton Coldfield slightly earlier

Cross City South -

  • 46 minutes pat the hour Four Oaks - Longbridge and 50 minutes past the hour Lichfield Trent Valley - Longbridge will run non-stop Selly Oak - Longbridge, with the exception of the 16:50 which will call at Bournville, Kings Norton and Northfield
  • 02 minutes past the hour Longbridge - Lichfield Trent Valley and 22 minutes past the hour Longbridge - Four Oaks services will start forward from Selly Oak at the booked time
  • 07:22 and 08:02 departures from Longbridge will not be altered to reduce the risk of overcrowding

Duddeston will be served half hourly at 06 and 36 minutes past the hour southbound. The following services will not call at Duddeston:

  • 0602 Blake St - Longbridge at 0626 (Monday - Friday)
  • 0615 Lichfield City - Longbridge at 0645 (Monday - Friday)
  • 0715 Lichfield City - Longbridge at 0746 (Monday - Friday)
  • 0745 Lichfield City - Redditch at 0816 (Monday - Friday)
  • 0810 Lichfield Trent Valley - Longbridge at 0846 (Monday - Friday)
  • 0822 Lichfield City - Redditch at 0856 (Monday - Friday)
  • 0620 Lichfield Trent Valley-Redditch at 0656 (Saturdays only)
  • 0650 Lichfield Trent Valley-Longbridge at 0726 (Saturdays only)

Lichfield Trent Valley will be served half hourly. The following Monday - Friday services will not serve Lichfield Trent Valley and will start forward from Lichfield City:

  • 0608 from Lichfield Trent Valley starts forward from Lichfield City at 0615
  • 0710 from Lichfield Trent Valley starts forward from Lichfield City at 0715
  • 0740 from Lichfield Trent Valley starts forward from Lichfield City at 0745
  • 0840 from Lichfield Trent Valley starts forward from Lichfield City at 0845
  • 1740 from Lichfield Trent Valley starts forward from Lichfield City at 1747
  • 1810 from Lichfield Trent Valley starts forward from Lichfield City at 1817

The following services expected at Lichfield Trent Valley will terminate short at Lichfield City:

  • 0707 arrival at Lichfield Trent Valley terminates short at Lichfield City at 0704
  • 0737 arrival at Lichfield Trent Valley terminates short at Lichfield City at 0733
  • 0837 arrival at Lichfield Trent Valley terminates short at Lichfield City at 0833
  • 1737 arrival at Lichfield Trent Valley terminates short at Lichfield City at 1733
  • 1806 arrival at Lichfield Trent Valley terminates short at Lichfield City at 1802

London Overground

London Overground do not operate an amended timetable.

Merseyrail

Merseyrail do not operate an amended timetable.

Northern

The following routes are subject to extended journey times:
  • Newcastle - Carlisle
  • Blackpool - Colne
  • Liverpool Lime Street - Wigan / Preston
  • Manchester Victoria - Clitheroe
  • Manchester - Wigan / Kirkby / Southport
  • Manchester - Chester
  • Manchester - Hazel Grove / Buxton
  • Manchester Piccadilly - Hadfield / Glossop
  • Manchester - Blackpool
  • Leeds - Sheffield - Nottingham
  • Sheffield - Huddersfield
  • Manchester Victoria - Blackburn via Todmorden

On the Hadfield / Glossop route there will be some re-routing of trains in the mornings, affecting the order in which Hadfield, Dinting and Glossop are served.

ScotRail

ScotRail do not operate an amended timetable.

South Western Railway

From 8 October to 9 December timetables on the routes listed below will be altered slightly to allow extra time for some journeys which are affected by seasonal conditions. Please check the times of your trains carefully to make sure you don’t miss your train. 

Trains towards London Waterloo will run earlier between the stations shown below. Services will be altered Monday to Sunday unless stated differently.

 

  • From Guildford to Hinchley Wood
  • From Guildford to Bookham (Sunday only)
  • From Reading to Sunningdale (also Longcross Monday to Friday)
  • From Windsor to Sunnymeads
  • From Dorking (earlier start from there only)

 

 

Some early morning main line services from Yeovil, Salisbury, Portsmouth, Haslemere, Weymouth and Bournemouth will run earlier than normal for the first part of their journey.

Trains from London Waterloo will arrive later at Shepperton, Windsor, Reading, Dorking and Guildford (via Epsom and via Cobham). 

There will also be some minor alterations to early morning services between Aldershot and Ascot on Monday to Friday only.

An amended timetable will be in operation from Monday 9 October. Service on the following lines may be subject to alterations:

TransPennine Express

A slightly revised Monday to Friday timetable will operate from Monday 23 October until Friday 8 December.

The morning peak will be as follows:

06:26 Manchester Piccadilly to Hull will start from Leeds
05:48 Hull to Manchester Airport with depart Hull, Brough, Gilberdyke, Howden and Selby 8 minutes earlier
06:37 Hull to Manchester Piccadilly will depart Hull and Brough 4 minutes earlier, and Selby 3 minutes earlier
07:15 Liverpool to Scarborough will run through Scarborough as a 6 car formation rather than detaching 3 cars at York

Between the peaks will be as follows:

09:27, 10:27, 11:27, 12:27, 13:27 and 14:27 Middlesbrough to Manchester Airport will start from York at 10:23, 11:23, 12:23, 13:23, 14:23 and 15:22, respectively
15:27 Middlesbrough to Manchester Airport will run as two separate trains, these will be the 15:27 Middlesbrough to York and the 16:23 York to Manchester Airport

The afternoon / evening peak will be as follows:

12:06 Manchester Airport to York will not run
14:50 Scarborough to Liverpool will run as a 6 car throughout rather than attaching 3 cars at Leeds
17:25 Manchester Piccadilly to Newcastle will start back from Manchester Airport at 17:03 on Fridays (to match Monday to Thursday)
17:35 Manchester Airport to Middlesbrough will start from Manchester Piccadilly at 17:54

Virgin Trains

Virgin Trains do not operate an amended timetable.
