East Midlands Trains services during Christmas and New Year 2017/18

Please find below a day-by-day summary of the services that East Midlands Trains will be running over the Christmas and New Year Bank Holiday period.

Saturday 23 December

 

London services are subject to retiming and/or cancellation due to engineering work. East Midlands Trains will operate two trains per hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras International and one train per hour between Sheffield/Derby and London St Pancras International. Corby - London services will run between Corby and Kettering only.

Normal service on other routes.

Sunday 24 December

 

A revised Sunday service is expected to run during the day, subject to the following engineering work.

London services are subject to retiming and/or cancellation due to engineering work. East Midlands Trains will operate two trains per hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras International and one train per hour between Sheffield/Derby and London St Pancras International. Corby - London services will run between Corby and Kettering only.

Late evening services on the London route will not operate with the last train arriving into London at 21:25 from York, the last train to depart London is the 20:40 to Derby.

Train services will not run between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester, and will not stop at Stockport.

Train services will operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Peterborough and between Ely and Norwich. An express rail replacement bus service will operate between Peterborough and Norwich.

Many regional services will begin to shut down from 18:00, with no East Midlands Trains local services operating after 21:00.

Monday 25 December

 

No service.

Tuesday 26 December

 

No service.

Wednesday 27 December

 

Some early morning trains will be cancelled as part of the post-Christmas start up, with services expected to operate as normal by 09:00.

East Midlands Trains will operate two trains per hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras International and one train per hour between Sheffield/Derby and London St Pancras International. Corby - London services will run between Corby and Kettering only.

Train services between Norwich and Liverpool Lime Street will terminate at / start from Liverpool South Parkway all day. Passengers should use other train operators services between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Lime Street.

Thursday 28 December

 

London services are subject to retiming and/or cancellation due to engineering work. East Midlands Trains will operate two trains per hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras International and one train per hour between Sheffield/Derby and London St Pancras International. Corby - London services will run between Corby and Kettering only.

Friday 29 December

 

London services are subject to retiming and/or cancellation due to engineering work. East Midlands Trains will operate two trains per hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras International and one train per hour between Sheffield/Derby and London St Pancras International.  Buses will replace trains between Corby and Kettering. 

Services after 23:50 hours are diverted NOT calling at Market Harborough, buses will run between Kettering, Market Harborough and Leicester.

Saturday 30 December

 

London services are subject to retiming and/or cancellation due to engineering work. East Midlands Trains will operate two Trains per hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras International and one train per hour between Sheffield/Derby and London St Pancras International. Corby - Kettering services will be replaced by buses.

Because of engineering work in the Manchester Oxford Road area, East Midlands Trains services will terminate at Manchester Piccadilly. Customers should use replacement bus services to travel on to Liverpool.

Sunday 31 December

East Midlands Trains will operate one train per hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras International and one train per hour between Sheffield/Derby and London St Pancras International. Corby - Kettering services will be replaced by buses.

Because of engineering work in the Manchester Oxford Road area, East Midlands Trains services will terminate at Manchester Piccadilly. Customers should use replacement bus services to travel between Manchester and Liverpool.
