Description

Network Rail are carrying out engineering between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road, closing all lines.

Until the end of the day on Monday 1 January, trains will not run between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road.

Customers are required to walk between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road for connecting trains except as follows:

Arriva Trains Wales

On Saturday 30 December, a bus will also operate between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly.

On Monday 1 January, trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester will not run between Manchester Piccadilly and Warrington Bank Quay, a bus service will operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Warrington Bank Quay, calling at Earlestown and Newton-le-Willow.

East Midlands Trains

Trains will run between Norwich / Peterborough / Nottingham and Manchester Piccadilly only. A bus will operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool.

Northern

On Monday 1 January, some trains will be diverted to start / terminate at Manchester Victoria. Customers are required to walk between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly. Buses are also replacing trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Warrington Central / Birchwood.

TransPennine Express

TransPennine Express services will not run between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street via Warrington. Manchester Oxford Road, Birchwood, Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway will not be served.

Passengers at intermediate stations should use alternative services to Liverpool and Manchester.

Passengers at Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street should use TransPennine Express services between Manchester Victoria and Liverpool Lime Street. Customers are required to walk between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly. (These services will call additionally at Newton-le-Willows on Monday).

Trains between Scotland and Manchester Airport will be diverted and to start / terminate at Manchester Victoria and will not call at Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport. Customers are required to walk between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly for onward services.

Some trains will be re-timed / cancelled or diverted to start / terminate at Manchester Victoria.
