Engineering work is taking place each day between Newbury and Theale, closing some lines.

Long Distance Services:

Services between Penzance / Plymouth / Exeter St Davids Taunton / Weston-super-Mare / Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington will be diverted to run on alternative routes between Reading and Westbury / Taunton. Trains may depart up to 35 minutes earlier or later than usual.

Some services will be amended to start / terminate at different stations, and include additional stops. Services will not call at stations between Theale, Newbury or Pewsey.

Newbury customers should travel via Reading and Theale with road transport between Theale and Newbury or Reading and Newbury. There will also be fast buses in the morning and evening peaks between Didcot Parkway and Newbury taking approximately 35-40 minutes. Pewsey customers travel via Swindon with road transport between Swindon and Pewsey taking 45-55 minutes. In addition to this there will also be limited road transport between Westbury and Pewsey taking 50 minutes.

Monday to Thursday:

An additional train - the 19:27 London Paddington to Bristol Parkway, calling at Reading and Swindon, will run.

The 23:30 London Paddington to Cardiff Central will terminate at Bristol Temple Meads. A replacement bus will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff Central.

The 19:29 and 20:29 Swansea to London Paddington services will terminate at Swindon. Customers should use rail connections for stations between Swindon and London Paddington.

Local Services:

Newbury - Reading:

Until 22:00 each night, local services will run an amended service during morning and evening peak times only, with trains making an additional stop at Reading West.

Services will run between Bedwyn / Newbury / Theale and Reading.

Replacement buses will run throughout the day between Newbury and Reading and Theale and Bedwyn. During morning and evening peaks, replacement buses will also run between Newbury and Didcot Parkway.

After 22:00 each night, no train services will run between Newbury and Reading. Replacement buses will operate between Newbury and Reading.

Other services:

Some local services between Gloucester / Bristol Parkway / Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa / Westbury / Salisbury / Frome / Castle Cary / Weymouth will be re-timed to run earlier or later than usual.
