Engineering work is taking place between Crewe and Alsager, closing all lines.

East Midlands Trains:

Services between Derby and Crewe will run between Derby and Alsager. Replacement buses will run between Alsager and Crewe.

London Northwestern Railway:

Services between Crewe and Northampton / London Euston will be retimed to arrive / depart Crewe up to 30 minutes earlier / later than usual. Services will be diverted between Crewe and Stafford, not calling at Alsager, Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent or Stone.

Replacement buses will run between Crewe and Stafford, calling at stations via Alsager and Stoke-on-Trent.


As a result of this engineering work, platform availability is very restricted. Therefore trains will be retimed between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe.

Trains from Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe will have journey times extended by up to 35 minutes from Sandbach.

Trains from Crewe to Manchester Piccadilly will depart Crewe 5 minutes earlier than normal.
